Holy Saturday is part of Holy Week. Which also includes Maundy Thursday.

There are three important parts of Easter …

Death, Burial and Resurrection!

The Death of Jesus Christ was Good Friday. His burial is Holy Saturday. Which this blog post will discuss. Then, his Resurrection is Sunday, known as Easter.

His Burial

Joseph of Arimathea asked for the body of Jesus Christ do give a proper burial from Pilate. Jesus was buried in a rich mans grave. You can read about the burial in the four gospels: Matthew 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56 and John 19:38-42.

We cannot forget the tomb of Jesus was heavily guarded. A giant stone was rolled in front of the grave. One that would require tons of man power to move. Plus, it had a seal over it to show if it was moved or not.

The history of Easter Bonnets - When celebrating Easter, many Christians don their best apparel to attend church services and family gatherings. On Easter Sunday, gentlemen often put on their best suits and women their fanciest dresses. Children, too, wear formal clothing on Easter Sunday. Girls in particular tend to wear an item of interest that seems to only appear once per year.
