Holy Tuesday

Holy Tuesday is also known as Great and Holy Tuesday. This is the Tuesday just before Easter. This is part of Holy Week. #HolyTuesday

Holy Tuesday is part of Holy Week, the week leading up to Easter Sunday in the Christian calendar. It commemorates events that occurred on the Tuesday of the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. One significant event on Holy Tuesday is Jesus’ teaching in the Temple, where he confronted religious leaders and delivered parables. Another notable event is the Olivet Discourse, where Jesus prophesied about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end times. Holy Tuesday is a time for reflection on Jesus’ teachings and his preparation for the events that would unfold later in the week, leading to his crucifixion and resurrection.

Mostly celebrated in the Catholic Church and some protestant churches. Usually certain scriptures are read and hymns sung on this day.

According to common interpretation of the Bible, this day is when Jesus was issued various challenges by the Pharisees and Sadducees over subjects such as marriage in heaven, paying taxes to Caesar, and the source of His authority (Matthew 21:23—23:39; Mark 11:27—12:44; Luke 20:1—21:4).
