Proverbs 11

Proverbs 11 – As part of the 31 Day Proverbs Challenge, I am doing one chapter per day for 31 days since there are 31 chapters also in the Book of Proverbs. This is day 11 of 31, therefore I am focusing on Proverbs 11.//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

Proverbs 11

This Proverb starts off talking about a dishonest scale. Remember the scales that balance on the sides. People would often add weight to one side to swindle the other person so they will have to pay more for what they actually got. This shows us that God dislikes those who are dishonest and tries to rob from other people.

Proverbs 11:1 - A false balance is abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight.

It does say God likes the just scale. A Scale that balances out, one that does right. One that won’t cheat and is honest. A scale that follows God’s Laws. Balance and scales are the same thing.

But a just weight is His delight.1[/pullquote]

If you are proud, a pride person, conceded, it will bring shame, this shows that you don’t give God the glory. You think that you done it. You think you don’t need God. But if you humble yourself and know that God is the one in control and He is the one controlling you and gets all the glory, then you are wise with wisdom. He is the one that you need and depend on.

This Proverb also talks about integrity that it will guide you right, this integrity is that of God’s standards. It also tells us that a bad mind, those who don’t follow God’s standards will fall. This is because it goes against God’s Will.

Again, this Proverb can tell us not to store treasures on earth, that we cannot take them with us when we die. These treasures are those of the earth, gold, silver, jewels, valuables, you name it.

It also tells us by living by God we shall gain life through Him. But if you are not righteous, you go against God’s Will, you fall into lust, into sin. When the wicked man dies, all he has done dies with him. It goes on to tell us by following God will be blessed by God.

So this Proverb shows us that doing right by God we will do well in His eyes and He will bless us and take care of us, but when we don’t follow God, go against His Will, it will lead to destruction. Nothing good can ever come of rebelling against God. God will punish those who do wrong and he will reward those who do good for His benefit.

It also tells us if we find good, we find favor, but if we seek out evil, we will find trouble.

If you trust in the valuables you have on earth you will fall, again we cannot take them with us. These are what thieves can steal.  Our true treasure is God’s Love, of his Son, who died for us. That treasure can never be stolen, taken away from us.

We show our actions by what we do, this is our fruit. Does our fruit show that we are saved? I pray that others can see the fruit in your life. The old saying, Proofs in the Pudding, it will show! If it does we have the tree of life and we are wise because we help win souls. Who have you shared Christ with? Are you afraid to tell someone about Christ? I pray that you get bold and do it! Be a soul winner for Christ. I am more afraid of what God will say than what man will say. After all, I don’t have to answer to man at my end, I answer to God!
