404 Day

404 Day – The day you are looking for cannot be found. (This day is a take off form the 404 Errors we get when we try to load a web page that cannot be found.) #404 #404Day

404 Day

Of course this day is held annually on April 4. It takes place on the fourth day of the fourth month of the year.

Ont his day maybe try to find unique custom 404 Error Pages on websites. This blog, Courageous Christian Father, uses a custom 404 Error when someone lands to a page that cannot be found. The title is called Raptured Blog Post. Creative eh? However, this day is more of an awareness day … awareness of Censorship of websites and blogs!

404 Day - Day Not Found!

Censorship

Main purpose of this day was to help raise awareness of censorship in libraries. That is because schools, libraries and businesses restrict access to certain websites.  That is mainly because of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) who requires restrictions. The main purpose is to restrict obscenity, pornographic material, religious and even art websites. Which these restrictions clearly violate the First Amendment in order to try to protect children. I know that some restaurants with free wi-fi has blocked Courageous Christian Christian Father because it is a religious site.

That censorship could lead to actually educational and informative sites being blocked!

Maybe if you are a blogger, blog about Internet Censorship, the First Amendment rights, Freedom of Speak and Freedom of Press, Etc.

Some towns and cities hold events on this day too.
