John 14

John 14 - Today is Day 14 of the 21 Day Gospel of John Challenge. Today read Chapter 14 of the Gospel of John. #John14 #BGBG2

This chapter has 31 verses with 3 headers.

1 . Jesus Comforts His Disciples

Verses 1-6

Jesus reassures His disciples He is going to prepare a place for them and told them the way to where He is going …

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 14:6

Reminds me of the song, Chain Breaker by Zach Williams. In it Williams stated He is a Way Making Savior.

2. Oneness with the Father

Verses 7-15

Jesus let the disciples know that if they Know Him, they will also know the Father. He also said that the Father in Him and He is in the Father. Plus Jesus mentions love again. Love is very important!

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

John 14:15

3. Role of the Spirit

Verses 16-31

Jesus shares with them about the Helper, the Holy Spirit who will soon to come. Plus, Jesus told them if they love Him, we will keep his Word, obey Him. If we don’t love Him, then we won’t. A good way to know the fruit of a person, like I mentioned in previous post, Proof is in the Pudding.

The Helper, known as the Holy Spirit is our teacher. He will help us and guide us. The Holy Spirit is like an alarm system.

Because we have the Holy Spirit as our teacher, guide, helper, etc. Jesus also told us …

Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

John 14:27

We shouldn’t worry or be afraid. God has it and has a plan and purpose for it.
