This talk is on Christian Action, it was my Talk #8 on my Walk to Emmaus. This talk was given to us by Lee Bell.
Piety is the heart of God.
Study is the mind of God.
As John 14:6 states that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. You can look at it as The way is piety, the truth is study and the life is action. This comes in to play with the balancing of the stool. (Piety, Study and Action). The other two were mentioned in a previous entry and a link to each is below. You need all 3 of these to keep it balanced.
Other 2 parts of the stool
You will see power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you if you truly believe in Jesus Christ.
Christian Action is a Natural Response to God’s Grace
- God’s Grace Awakens us
- We are empowered
- Response to Grace (Galatians 5:22 – Fruit of the Spirit)
- Qualities of our Gifts
- Make a Plan
- Work on that plan (Psalm 18:32 & Exodus 14:15 – See below)
- Keep your perspective
- Don’t do it alone!
- Be authentic (Be yourself!)
It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. (Psalm 18:32)
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. (Exodus 14:15)
- Make a friend
- Be a friend
- Bring friends to Christ
- Spiritual Qualities
E + R = O … Event + Response = Outcome
Reaching out to others
- Meeting Needs
- Listening
- Studying
Be uncomfortable at times to share God’s Word and His love. Remember the pain and how uncomfortable  Jesus was being flogged, beat, humiliated and hung on a Cross to die for our sins. If He endured that much pain for us, we can be uncomfortable in spreading His Word and love.
We need to reach out and grow in Christ to help save a lost World. When we do we need to consider others.  Do unto others, as you want them to do unto you. God also wants us to be Christ like. Setting a Christ like example wherever we go.
14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. (John 13:14-17)
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10)
- John 14:16
- Acts 1:8
- Galatians 5:22
- 1 Peter 4:10
- Psalm 18:32
- Exodus 14:15
- Luke 10:27
- Matthew 7:12
- John 13:14-17
Did you know Matthew 7:12 is Golden Rule! Â
