Italian Pizza Egg Roll Recipe
This is a very simple and easy recipe to make. It is not badly priced. This was my first attempt to make these and my daughter, 17 loved them.
- Egg Roll Wraps or Spring Roll Wraps
- Pepperoni Slices (optional)
- Cheese Sticks
- Oregano (optional)
- Pizza Sauce or Spaghetti Sauce (for serving)
- Frying Oil
The Egg Roll Wraps can be found in the refrigerated produce section of your grocery story. I had a hard time trying to find these when I went to look for them.
The Pepperoni is optional. If you want a meat free Italian Pizza Egg Roll then omit the pepperoni. You can use the regular pepperoni, jalapeño pepperoni or for a healthier version, you can use turkey pepperoni.
I will say we used the jalapeño pepperoni since my daughter and I enjoy spicy food, but we believe it was still too spicy. So maybe you can use one or two in a roll and use the rest as regular.
Take the wraps, note they often will come out as two at a time. When you are looking down at them, make a diamond.
Then, place about 5 pepperoni slices going across.
Then top that with a cheese stick. (I recommend you cut them in half long way. It seemed like too much cheese in one roll with a whole cheese stick.)
Then top with oregano. This seasoning is optional, but I believe will add a flavor to to them.
Then fold the bottom corner up.
Then, take the left corner, you may want to dab a little water on the that corner, Fold it in.
Do the same with the right corner as you did for the left.
Now just roll it up.
Once you reach the top corner, dab that corner with water and press it down on the roll.
After you completed all of them.
Deep fry until golden brown. They won’t take long if you have the grease already warmed up and hot.
I heated up the marinara sauce, I like my sauce hot as well. Use the sauce to dip the Italian Pizza Egg Roll in and enjoy!
