Prayer of St. Patrick

Christ be with me, Christ within me
Christ behind me, Christ before me
Christ beside me, Christ to win me

Prayer of St. Patrick - This is one of the prayers said to be said by St. Patrick. I also made this into a free printable! Also known as St. Patrick's Breastplate.

Christ to comfort me and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger
Christ in hearts of all that love me
Christ in mouth of friend or stranger.

The Prayer of St. Patrick, also known as “St. Patrick’s Breastplate” or “Lorica of St. Patrick,” is a famous Christian prayer attributed to St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It is a powerful invocation for protection and strength, often recited for spiritual defense against evil. The prayer is known for its vivid imagery and poetic language, affirming the believer’s trust in God’s presence and sovereignty over all creation. It is traditionally attributed to St. Patrick but may have been compiled later, drawing on his teachings and life. The prayer emphasizes the believer’s dependence on God for guidance and protection in all aspects of life.
