End NF Car. In Corbin, KY, there is a car that says End NF. NF stands for Neurofibromatosis. NF runs in my family including myself, my mom, uncle and cousins on my mom’s side. This is a special car driven by Wallen’s Towing & Recovery for local NF Hero, Austin Stewart.
I mention about me having NF in 10 Things You May Not Know About Me
End NF Car
The END NF Car is part of the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF). It’s purpose to help end NF through research. Tumors are part of NF. My mom and even my uncle have them on majority of their body. I even think some of my cousins, my uncles children do too. I have started to get some myself recently.
The End NF Car in Corbin, KY is there due to a young boy with NF. The car has vehicle wrap about End NF. There are three types of NF (NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis).
This is the CTF mission statement.
We passionately pursue and take pride in our mission to “Drive Research, Expand Knowledge, and Advance Care for the NF Community”. This passion and pride are our strength. Those living with NF and their families are our inspiration and help guide everything we do. We seek to always stay aware of and be empathetic to their many challenges. Most importantly, we always remember we do what we do for them.
Debut of End NF Car
The End NF Car made a debut on August 10, 2017 at the 65th Annual NIBROC Parade in Corbin, KY. This is a very special car driven by Wallen’s Towing & Recovery, a local Corbin automotive company. Wallen’s wrapped a company vehicle in blue and green, featuring the Children’s Tumor foundation logo, the I Know a Fighter mark, the End NF badge, and a very special photo of a local NF Hero, Austin Stewart.
Kristy said to CTF
“A close family friend, Daniel Wallen, owns a towing company, Wallen’s Towing, in our small town. They are very community oriented, and they felt very helpless in Austin’s fight against NF. The idea for the NF wrap car came about as a way to raise awareness for NF and to also help local NF families. Daniel, Danielle, Haley, Dylan, and the entire Wallen family are great about showing support in the community and especially to our little family! The NF car was introduced to our small town during our hometown parade at the annual NIBROC Festival.”
Donate 25¢ per mile
Wallen’s will donate 25¢ per mile that the End NF Car drives. They will donate the money at the end of each quarter to a local NF Family. The Wallen’s will use this car for lockouts, business errands, transporting clients and other miscellaneous needs.
Kristy also shared about what the car meant to her family and son
“Austin’s journey with NF has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride; ups, downs, loops, and curves that have made our family hold on tight for the ride. In those trying times when the news from the doctors isn’t great or when treatments aren’t working like they should, support from our friends, family, co-workers, and church enable us to stay strong and keep trudging on.”
“This car encompasses all of the things that are dear to us as a family fighting NF together. It embodies hope that we will one day find a cure, the strength and love that we need to keep fighting, the ability to educate others about NF, and the faith that by working together we will one day not only have treatment options but a cure. It completely humbles us that Wallen’s Towing went above and beyond to not only find a way to raise awareness but to also help local NF families.”
NF Awareness Month
The Children’s Tumor Foundation celebrates NF Awareness Month in May and World NF Awareness Day on May 17th of each year.
If you or your child has NF feel free to join the NF Registry.

I passed by Wallen’s Towing & Recovery on Friday, January 5, 2018. I presented them with one of the End NF Kindness Rocks I did. They thanked me for it and said he will put it up. He told me the one with the ribbon was found at the Walgreen’s in Corbin. Which is one I hid there a while back. The other one I did just like the one I gave them. I hid the other one in East Tennessee area. I plan to make more of these End NF Kindness Rocks.
