Fear not!

A quote from Charlie Brown …

“I only dread one day at a time.”

The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:18 (NKJV) and it reads “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

As we fear God, we love him more it increases.

It is said that fear is the fear is the first step of wisdom. We are to fear God because he is Holy. Fear in a reverent way.

If you have torment with your fear there is no love in it. God holds tomorrow in His hands. Sickness may torment me but I won’t fear sickness because God is alive!

The 23rd of Psalm shows us to fear no evil as David told us. He tells us in verse Psalm 23:4 he will fear no evil. We should do the same as David and fear no evil.

As 1 John 4:18 stated above it shows that perfect love cast out fear.

Then 1 John 4:19 goes on to tell us that we love Him because He first loved us.

We get anxiety when we don’t think God can handle things. We believe God isn’t big enough.  If we have fear we won’t step out of the gates.

Do you want to go deep or stay in the mud pile?

The What if … is a fear factor.  Fear should overcome faith in Jesus. Have the Faith Factor! Yes, God! The fear factor says. “No!” It also says What if? The faith factor helps you move forward. Fear factor keeps us from the best things of God.

Give your sickness, money, job, worries, concerns all to God.

Perfect love burst confidence for the Lord. He loves me just as I am.

Love is strong!

In Revelation 1:17-18 the Lord says …

“Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”

Revelation 1:17-18

Pastor Bob always said there are 365 Fear Nots in the Bible.

There is no hopeless situation with God. Continue to pray, give give up. don’t fear!

Even in Luke 5:10 Jesus tells us to not be afraid!

If you fear criticism you will never do anything for Christ. No impact on Christ. This failure we won’t catch men. Only with Christ can we do marvelous things. We are fishers of men. Lost people everywhere. We can’t be afraid to fish!

We need to be a God pleaser, not a man pleaser. God is the one who we have to answer to in the end. We need to worry about offending God, not man! The world is not my inheritance. Jesus said to carry your cross. We suffer for the Savior. Don’t have everything on Earth, because we have so much more in Heaven. It is a mansion waiting for us there.

In 6 days God created everything, the 7th day He rested. Eyes have not seen, hears have not heard what He is preparing fo us.

Proverbs 29:25 shows us “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” You can get caught in traps with men.

Trust in the Lord! He will save you! Pray and ask for the losing of fear. God is our refuge and strength. Psalm 46:1

Worry is putting up question marks while God puts a period.

I got a verse sent to my mobile phone on March 26, 2013 from Blessed. It was from 2 Timothy 1:7. That verse reads: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I figured I would share ad that verse to this entry.

This came from the sermon at Piedmont Baptist Church on April 1, 2012 at the evening worship service by Pastor Bob Neal. First published March 29, 2013. Last updated or republished July 8, 2020.
