The first World Autism Day was in 2007. Did you know that light blue is the color for autism and as well as colorful puzzle pieces? So wear light blue on April 2 to help raise awareness of Autism. Also, April is Autism Awareness Month. They are even saying to light your porches blue for Autism awareness too. They named the awareness Light It Up Blue.

World Autism Awareness Day, observed annually on April 2nd, aims to increase understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) worldwide. It promotes early diagnosis, intervention, and inclusion in society.

The United Nations designated April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007 to highlight the need for improved awareness and support for individuals with autism. Various organizations and communities globally organize events, seminars, and campaigns to raise awareness and foster acceptance of individuals with autism.

Similar to how I had my porch for veterans with a green light.

The Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) encompass a range of conditions that affect communication, behavior, and social interaction. Here are five major types of ASD:

  1. Autistic Disorder (Classic Autism): This term was used before 2013. It includes symptoms such as difficulties in communication, repetitive behaviors, and challenges in social interactions.
  2. Asperger’s Syndrome: On the milder end of the spectrum, individuals with Asperger’s may be highly intelligent but struggle with social interactions. They often focus intensely on specific interests.
  3. Childhood Disintegrative Disorder (CDD): Rare and severe, CDD describes children who develop normally and then rapidly lose social, language, and mental skills, typically between ages 2 and 4.
  4. Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS): Previously used for children with more severe symptoms than Asperger’s but less severe than autistic disorder. It’s now considered part of the broader ASD category.
  5. Rett Syndrome: Although once grouped with ASD, Rett syndrome is now known to be caused by a genetic mutation and is no longer considered an ASD.

Knowing Christ Today by Dallas Willard — Willard’s work confronts a critical issue in modern Christian thought: the separation of Jesus’ teachings from what is considered genuine knowledge. He argues that this division has led to a catastrophic misunderstanding of what it means to know Christ and live according to His teachings. The book’s aim is to reestablish the core teachings of Christianity—often referred to as “Mere” Christianity—as a substantial and recognized form of knowledge¹[1].
