Two ways to be fooled

Today, we live in a society that believes their own truth is true. They don’t look to God’s Word as Truth.

Two ways to be fooled - believing in something not true or not believing what is true. #truth #fooled #bgbg2

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn’t true: the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Søren Aabye Kierkegaard

Kierkegaard was a Danish theologian, philosopher, poet, social critic, and religious author who is widely considered to be the first existentialist philosopher. He focused on Christian ethics.

Fooled could mean to be tricked or deceived.

But, if we think about it we often can be a fool, as we all have been or still are believing in something not true or refusing to believe truth.

We do this with physical truth, mental truth, emotional truth, spiritual truth, etc.

How can we determine something is true? We can line it up with God‘s Word, the Bible! Does that line up or not?

As I have mentioned plenty of times, we answer to God not man! We need God’s truth in us! We need to line up to His Truth, not ours!

How to line up to God’s Truth

  • Read the Bible
  • Pray
  • Attend Worship
  • Attend Small Groups, Sunday School, Connection Groups, Etc.
  • Surrender to Him
  • Surround yourself with fellow believers
  • Have regular Bible Studies

The list can go on and on. Let God guide you!

The most popular verse on fool is …

“The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.”

Psalm 14:1

The word fool is used in plenty of other Bible verses including a lot in the Book of Proverbs.

H5528   (Strong)

H191   (Strong)

אֱוִיל

‘ĕvı̂yl

ev-eel’

Don’t be fooled! God will not be mocked! We will ALL answer before God.

Knowing Christ Today by Dallas Willard — Willard’s work confronts a critical issue in modern Christian thought: the separation of Jesus’ teachings from what is considered genuine knowledge. He argues that this division has led to a catastrophic misunderstanding of what it means to know Christ and live according to His teachings. The book’s aim is to reestablish the core teachings of Christianity—often referred to as “Mere” Christianity—as a substantial and recognized form of knowledge¹[1].
