New Church Safety Alert System – is being launched in Jefferson County, Tennessee by Sheriff Jeff Coffey.
Jefferson County 911 District is working with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and his task force to connect more than 80 churches across the county to form the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Safe Church Task Force.

Many of the area churches have created or have been creating security teams at their local church. The County has has a few church security training sessions for the area churches in the past.
“It’s a way for us to network with the churches in the county.”

The training includes training with area law enforcement agencies as well.

You find in in malls and schools, why not churches? Each church can opt in for this.
I am glad to see this, knowing Sheriff Coffee, and being a part of the local churches in the Jefferson County area. I hope more counties nationwide, will adopt something like this.
