American Sign Language Day

American Sign Language Day also known as ASL Day a day to celebrate American Sign Language (ASL). #ASLDAY

ASL Day is celebrated annually on April 15. I am not sure when ASL Day started, but it gets it date because in 1817 on that day, the first lasting school or the deaf opened in the United States. From that school and other deaf schools across the nation, The modern American Sign Language was born. It combined native American Signs, French Sign Language and Martha’s Vineyard Sign Language.
