Just one more sleep ‘til Christmas – it’s Christmas Eve and the song from the Muppets Christmas Carol resound in my mind.
Just one more sleep ‘til Christmas
One of my favorite Christmas Carol movie versions is done by the Muppets doing the Muppets Christmas Carol. One scene stands out as it is Christmas Eve when Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) and other Muppets sing about there is only one more sleep ‘til Christmas.
“The Muppet Christmas Carol” was released on December 11, 1992.
I guess this song and scene comes to my mind because there truly is only one more sleep until Christmas on Christmas Eve. Tonight we go to bed and then wake up to Christmas morning.
Christmas Eve growing up we (my sister and I) got to open one small present. Plus we would Leave cookies and milk for Santa Claus. Sometimes we would leave egg nog instead, at least I did that as my daughter was growing up.
There was really no ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas stories read unless we happen to watch the classic cartoon ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, but that usually aired already and not on Christmas Eve. There was no streaming back when I was growing up.
Christmas celebrates the birth of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. He came to die for our sins. The Greatest Gift ever given.
