The Christian being like a pumpkin analogy

The Christian being like a pumpkin analogy … As everything pumpkin spice and flavors start to emerge. I think it’s a good analogy to explain being a Christian. #Pumpkin

The Christian being like a pumpkin analogy

Christian Pumpkin Analogy (A 10 year old little girl was asked by another classmate, “what is it like to be a Christian?” The girl replied, “it’s like being a pumping God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washed all the dirt off you. Then he cuts open the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.”)

I do know that the jack-o-lantern has a demonic aspect to it, however, this is a new way to look at carving a pumpkin. Maybe you can go over this while you carve a pumpkin with your family if you still do so.

I saw this on Facebook in 2014.

A 10 year old little girl was asked by another classmate, “what is it like to be a Christian?” The girl replied, “it’s like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washed all the dirt off you. Then he cuts open the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.”

This is a good way to explain being a Christian during the Fall. If you really look at it from the point of view, the jack-a-lantern has a new perspective.

God does pick us up. He washes us from our sins (The Blood of Jesus is what cleanses us). The scooping out the yuck stuff is God molding us. The new carved face shows that we are a new creation in Christ. Plus, the light He gives us, is the light we need to shine in a dark and dying world. That light is His Light, the light of Jesus which shines brighter the darker the world gets. So let your light shine before men!
