What is Postmillennialism

Postmillennialism is a belief held by some Christians about the end times and the future of the world. According to this view, Christ’s kingdom is gradually expanding throughout the world, and will eventually become so dominant that it will usher in a golden age of peace and prosperity. After this, Christ will return to establish the new heavens and new earth. #Postmillennialism

What is Postmillennialism

Postmillennialism is a belief held by some Christians about the end times and the future of the world. According to this view, Christ's kingdom is gradually expanding throughout the world, and will eventually become so dominant that it will usher in a golden age of peace and prosperity. After this, Christ will return to establish the new heavens and new earth. #Postmillennialism

The name “postmillennialism” comes from the idea that Christ’s return will occur after, or “post,” the millennium of peace and prosperity. The millennium is seen as a long period of time, rather than a literal 1000 years.

Postmillennialists believe that the expansion of Christ’s kingdom will be brought about through the efforts of the church, as Christians evangelize the world and work to bring about social and political reforms. They believe that this work will lead to a gradual transformation of society, as more and more people come to accept the gospel and its values.

One of the key elements of postmillennialism is the idea of Christian optimism. Postmillennialists believe that the future is bright and that Christ’s kingdom will ultimately triumph over all the forces of evil. They see their work as part of a larger, cosmic plan that is moving the world towards a better future.

However, postmillennialism has faced criticism from other eschatological views, particularly in light of historical events such as World War I and II, which seemed to suggest that the world was not gradually improving. Some argue that postmillennialism is overly optimistic and naive about the nature of the world and the extent of human sin.

Despite these criticisms, postmillennialism continues to be held by some Christians today. Proponents of this view believe that Christians have a responsibility to work towards the transformation of society, and that this work will ultimately bear fruit in the form of a better world and a more peaceful future.

In summary, postmillennialism is a view of eschatology that emphasizes the gradual expansion of Christ’s kingdom throughout the world, leading to a golden age of peace and prosperity. While it has faced criticism and challenges, it offers a hopeful and optimistic vision of the future, and calls Christians to work towards the transformation of the world in light of God’s ultimate plan for creation.

20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:
  • No Bones About It — Jesus is Alive!
The phrase ‘No Bones About It’ is often used as well to state a fact with no doubt meaning Christ arose from the dead His bones were never found! Jesus Christ is surely alive!
  • Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday)
Maundy Thursday we don’t hear about this day too much, especially as a Baptist. Holy Week, that starts on Palm Sunday, week before the resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday falls the day before Good Friday and Easter. This is just a short write up on this day. #MaundyThursday #HolyThursday
  • Searching for Christ
Why do we go searching for Christ as if He is lost and someone to be found. We have it wrong it’s the other way around, Christ is seeking us who is lost so we can be found!
  • Spy Wednesday
Spy Wednesday or known as Holy Wednesday or even known as Great and Holy Wednesday. Sometimes known as Good Wednesday. This is the Wednesday that leads up to Easter. Part of Holy Week. #SpyWedneday #HolyWednesday #GoodWednesday
