Actually, we shouldn’t have to have a day set aside for this, we should take our child or children to the library often.

This day is held the first Saturday in February.

Current Date

February 1, 2020

Future Dates

  • 2021 – February 6
  • 2022 – February 5
  • 2023 – February 4
  • 2024 – February 3

This day has been celebrated since 2011. Nadine Lipman, a children’s librarian in Waterford, CT, created the day to help bring awareness to the community about the library.
