Stand Firm

Stand Firm – The Bible does tell us in many places to firmly stand. We must have a solid foundation to be able to stand firm. #StandFirm #BGBG2 #Bible

Part of standing firm is doing things in love, being on guard, being courageous, being strong and staying in the faith. In order to do that, we must have firm foundation.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”
I Corinthians 16: 13,14

The only firm and solid foundation is Jesus Christ. He is our solid rock! Without Him we cannot stand firm. We cannot be strong without Him either. He is our guide and helper.

We must put on the WHOLE Armor of God, that shows us we must put on the Lord Jesus Christ! Fully! Not partly or this piece or that piece. We cannot pick or choose! Several times in the putting on the Armor of God, Paul tells us to stand firm.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Ephesians 6:11;13-14

The Armor of God

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Paul writes to many of the churches about standing firm and freedom in Christ. That shows us we must be rooted in Christ to firmly stand. We also have to conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

We must be in one spirit, one mind, that shows unity and no division!

We must stand firm because God has chosen us even before the foundation of the world.

Back on standing firm on solid foundation, reminds me of the hymn, On Christ, The Solid Rock by Edward Mote …

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

If we are not rooted in the foundation of Jesus Christ, we will sink! We cannot stand at all.
