Needtobreathe: A Reflection of Human Experience

Needtobreathe is a South Carolina-based American rock band that has been captivating audiences with their music for over two decades. The band was formed in 1998 by brothers Bear Rinehart (vocals, guitar) and Bo Rinehart (guitar, backing vocals), and their childhood friend Seth Bolt (bass, backing vocals). Since then, they have released seven studio albums, several EPs, and a live album, and have become one of the most successful bands in modern rock. #needtobreathe

The band’s music has been described as a mix of Southern rock, folk, and alternative country, with a strong emphasis on melody, lyrics, and harmonies. They have drawn comparisons to bands such as Kings of Leon, The Black Crowes, and Mumford & Sons, but have developed their own unique sound that has garnered them a large and dedicated fan base.

One of the defining features of Needtobreathe’s music is their ability to infuse their lyrics with spiritual themes without being overtly religious. Many of their songs touch on universal themes such as love, loss, and redemption, and their lyrics often explore the struggle between faith and doubt. This has allowed them to connect with audiences from all walks of life, and their music has been featured in a variety of TV shows, movies, and commercials.

The band’s most recent album, “Out of Body,” was released in 2020 and features some of their most introspective and personal songs to date. The album explores themes such as the passage of time, the search for meaning, and the importance of relationships. It also features collaborations with artists such as Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Natalie Hemby.

In addition to their music, Needtobreathe is known for their electrifying live shows. They have toured extensively throughout their career, performing at venues and festivals across the globe. Their concerts are often described as high-energy, emotional experiences that leave audiences feeling inspired and uplifted.

While Needtobreathe is known for their music and live performances, there are a few things that most people may not know about the band. One interesting fact is that before they were known as Needtobreathe, the band was called “Bridge” and they played in local clubs around South Carolina.

Another lesser-known fact is that the band members are avid outdoorsmen and often incorporate their love for nature and the outdoors into their music. For example, their 2016 album “Hard Love” was partly inspired by their experiences on a wilderness retreat in the mountains of North Carolina. The band has also partnered with the organization OneWorld Health to raise awareness about the importance of clean water and access to healthcare in developing countries.

Lastly, many people may not know that the band members are actually related. Bear and Bo Rinehart are brothers, and Seth Bolt is a childhood friend who grew up playing music with them. In fact, Bear and Bo started playing music together when they were just teenagers, and their close bond has undoubtedly contributed to the band’s longevity and success.

Overall, while these facts may not be widely known, they give fans a deeper understanding and appreciation of the band’s music and the people behind it.

Overall, Needtobreathe is a band that has stood the test of time by staying true to their roots while also evolving and experimenting with new sounds and themes. Their music is a reflection of the human experience, and their ability to connect with audiences on a deep level is a testament to their talent and artistry. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend giving their music a listen – you won’t be disappointed!
