National Grouch Day a day to be grouchy? This is a Sesame Street inspired holiday from Oscar the Grouch. #GrouchDay
National Grouch Day
National Grouch Day is observed annually on October 15. If you are a grouch this is your special day. According to Sesame Street Magazine, this day was created for all grouches to celebrate their way of life. Sometimes grumps give backhanded compliments!
As per Merriam-Webster dictionary, a grouch is described as:
- a person who complains frequently or constantly
- a habitually irritable or complaining person
This holiday has been celebrated since 1976.
Time to be grouchy? Or maybe we should be the opposite of grouchy and joyful!
This day is not to be confused with Oscar the Grouch Day, which is in June of each year.
