National Grouch Day is October 15 each year, however, Oscar the Grouch Day is held on June 1st of each year.

That is because it was the day on which he is the grouchiest. Episode 3,866 of Sesame Street revealed that Oscar’s birthday was on June 1st, and many characters celebrated Oscar’s birthday on the episode.

Oscar the Grouch is a fictional character on the PBS/HBO television program Sesame Street. He has a green body, no visible nose, and lives in a trash can. Oscar’s favorite thing is trash, as evidenced by the song “I Love Trash”, with a running theme being his collection of seemingly useless items.
