A Church Sign About Being Stressed & Blessed

A Church sign about Being Stressed & Blessed – I saw this sign on my way to work, January 14, 2014. This sign hit me good. I had to get a picture for you all. Cause recently I have been stressed. Plus recently I just got blessed that helped elevate some of that stress. (Stressed & Blessed)

A Church Sign About Being Stressed & Blessed

Stressed & Blessed - Jefferson City Assembly of God Church Sign that reads Stop Focusing On How Stressed You Are and Remember How "BLESSED" you are.

The Jefferson City Assembly of God Church Sign reads …

Stop Focusing On How

Stressed You Are
and Remember How
“BLESSED” you are.

This church sign to me is true. We do need to stop focusing on what is stressing us. When we focus on the stress, we are taking our focus off of Christ. It is like we are taking our eyes off Christ. When we do that we, will sink. When we do that, we are saying I don’t trust you.

Instead we need to remember that God blesses us each day. God gave us the best gift of all. He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ to die for us. God always gives us what we need. He provides for us. We should be focusing on what God has given us. He has given us so much and most of the time, it goes unnoticed.

  1. Yes. I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed. Amen. Glory to My God on High. =)

  2. there is value in remembering ‘ rejoice in your depression ( heaviness) for the testing of your faith is more precious than silver or gold. 1 Peter 1:6-7

    King James Version (KJV)

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season,” if need be”, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

  3. just remember Steve… even Jesus had occasion to say ” my God why hast thou forsaken me” ..YET… he proceeded to perform what he was called to do based on “obedience’

  4. a good book for Christians was written by a psychiatrist ( John White). It is called ” The Masks of Melancholy”. John White profiles the comment by Paul in 2 Corinthians 1 when he said ” at times I despair of life itself”:……The God of All Comfort

3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

  5. I recommend that book to Christians because humans are equipped with many emotions ( all with a purpose) and each one expressed is to ( at the very least) be presented to God first for a reinterpretation BEFORE we proceed to ACT. The worst dilemma must be where there is a disease state permitting chemicals in our brain to magnify wrong motives. Much prayer and help must be provided to those who experience this.

  6. Worth saying about our culture and how we interract: We are living in an age where we interract through ” irony” (def:
    b.
(especially in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., especially as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion. The flaw in this is it opens the door also for antithetical statements ( where both sides say the opposite )but in a way that both have a ” ring of truth” e.g. ‘ you are so heavenly minded you are of no earthly good ‘ where the antithesis is ” you are so earthly minded you are of no heavenly good. Therefore words alone do not necessarily reveal truth BUt can too easily bring division or seek to WIN versus OVERCOME…………… It is VERY important to work through our emotions and pain in order to OVERCOME…. What Christian exists who, in the molding hand of our maker, had us at times only able to pray ” O God, O God, O God ( over and over) because our minds could form no other words?
