Held annually on the third Sunday of October. In 2023, that is on October 15th and is the 30th anniversary. This day of appreciation for Sunday School Teachers has been celebrated since 1993.

Future Dates:

Here are the next six third Sundays in October:

  1. October 15, 2023
  2. October 21, 2024
  3. October 19, 2025
  4. October 18, 2026
  5. October 17, 2027
  6. October 15, 2028

Other names for Sunday School include Small Group. So you can also call it National Small Group Teacher Appreciation Day

Take this day and let your Sunday School Teacher / Small Group Leader know that you appreciate them. Not to mention, the hosting families. (That is the family that allows you to meet in their private home.)

Sunday School or Small Group is not just for kids, but adults too! It is how we can learn more about God and also fellowship closer with our fellow bothers and sisters in Christ.

If you are not part of a Small Group or attending Sunday School, I encourage you to get plugged into a class!

If you are in or near Jefferson City, TN, I invite you to attend True Life Church.

This day occurs during Pastor Appreciation Month.

Pink Sunday is also the third Sunday of October!

Knowing Christ Today by Dallas Willard — Willard’s work confronts a critical issue in modern Christian thought: the separation of Jesus’ teachings from what is considered genuine knowledge. He argues that this division has led to a catastrophic misunderstanding of what it means to know Christ and live according to His teachings. The book’s aim is to reestablish the core teachings of Christianity—often referred to as “Mere” Christianity—as a substantial and recognized form of knowledge¹[1].
