K9 Veterans Day

K9 Veterans Day – Here is a holiday for those K9 dogs that have served. Let’s take the time and show our support for all the K9’s that are serving to protect our nation and community in the military, rescue and police departments.

K9 Veterans Day

I fully support our military and police! Even the K9 Units. One of my church members, he is a K9 Officer for the State of Tennessee.

His holiday is held annually on March 13. March 13 is also the official birthday of the US Army K9 Corps, which was formed in 1942. This holiday was originated by Joseph White, a retired military working dog trainer.

National K9 Veterans Day

During the first world war, dogs were called to duty! The bombing of Pearl Harbor changed a lot of things. Even called them Dogs for Defense.

In Just one month, Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero – Based on True Story of the Most Decorated War Dog in U.S. History – Marches Into Theaters Nationwide on April 13, 2018. My wife and I both would love to go watch that movie too.

You will often see K9 as non-hyphenated or hyphenated like K-9.  K9 is short for Canine. Interesting, I had to look that up. After I saw that, I was like duh! Makes sense! I always wondered what K9 meant. It is just short for the word canine.
