You’re not you without Jesus

I saw the snickers commercial and it shows someone not being themselves and then they eat a Snickers bar. After they partake of the Snickers bar they become themselves again.

Well, I want to say that you are not yourself unless you have Jesus. You must pray, worship, read God’s Word. Have a personal relationship with God. Then, we are ourselves, who God wants us to be, a new creation.

Using this commercial as a reference to show the Snickers bar changed the person to a nicer person, and that is only on a commercial. If you ate a Snickers bar in real life you really won’t change like they show on the commercials, but if you come to know Jesus and accept Him as your personal savior your changed. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

God will fulfill us and make us satisfied if we ask. Matthew 5:6 shows us “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” So if we want to know more about God, all we have to do is ask and he will fill us.

Some ways to stay right with God

You need to stay in church and keep going to church. Church attendance reflects your love for Christ. Don’t be as my pastor says CEO church members. Those that come on Christmas and Easter Only.

Keep in prayer, constant talk with our heaven Father, our Creator. This helps show a personal relationship with Christ.

Study God’s Word. Read your Bible. Do daily devotions.

Surround yourself with other believers.

Service & giving to others, to the church, community, and so on.

Of course, I didn’t use an image of a Snicker’s bar. I figured since it was close to Easter, I would use an image of Chocolate Crosses.

Discussion

How has Jesus satisfied you? What are steps you take to walk closer to God?

  1. I love this analogy! Jesus gives me strength to get through each day. I have daily quiet times, I go to three separate Bible studies/classes each week besides church (soon to be 4) because I just love learning about Him, and I try to be in constant prayer.

  2. Wow, I see that commercial all the time and never thought of this. It is so true. Maybe we can make a commercial for YouTube…lol Seriously you are right, once you accept Jesus you change, there is no way around it. I like Snickers but the only thing its gonna change is the size of my waist. Jesus has changed just about all aspects of my life.

    1. I know I have seen them all the time too. At work on my break the tv in the break room had that on and it hit me. I have been praying for things God wanted me to share and that was one them.

Yes you are right snickers will only change your waist size. Yes, that would make a good YouTube video to make one for Jesus changes you.

Yes Jesus will change all things. Way you do stuff, think, act, help others and much more.
