This was a blog suggestion idea from Faithful Bloggers. (Prompt #9). So I figure I would make a blog entry on this and share with you in a blog entry. This is my personal opinion on this.
Should Christians be a member of a church?
The road to salvation. Since all we have to do is the basic ABC’s of Salvation. If you click on that link, it will take you to that blog entry on the ABC’s of Salvation.
But, I do personally believe that going to church can help strengthen your relationship with Christ. It will help surround yourself with fellow believers. Help you get more into the study of Christ and God’s Word. It will help you in many ways. Give you encouragement and more. Fellowship is a great part to keep that personal relationship we get to have with Jesus. Jesus after all died for our sins.
Yes, I am sure you can do it aside by not going to church, but that would take a lot of discipline and hard work on your end for that. But, being with other believers can help inspire you to do more. Can help you learn more about the Word of God.
Remember a church is not the building. We as the people make up the church! You do not have to have a building to have a church service. A lot of times when you go camping, you have vespers. A Bible Study can be a form of a church too.
If you are a Christian and you feel you need a church find a church that has truth and sticks to the Biblical foundations of the Bible. Don’t find one that picks and chooses what they want from the Bible. I also believe find a church where the pastor isn’t afraid to preach on anything in the Bible, no matter the subject.
For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20)
I believe that if you don’t like what the preacher is saying it is sound and truth from the Bible, the reason is you know what you are doing is wrong, you don’t want to change and you have no desire to repent from that. The pastor is only showing the light on you.
Also find a church where you feel comfortable and know you can trust the church members. Just fyi, no matter where you go, you will always find hypocrites. So if that is what is keeping you from church then, you need to rethink that and try to find one. As long as we have sin in our World, we will always have hypocrites.
Finial thought, go to church, be in a church with sound doctrine of the Bible. Get involved in Worship, Prayer and Study! Grow closer to our Father, Our Creator, our God and His Son who died on the Cross for our sins.
I also do believe that going to church will also help with your personal relationship the Lord! So my I do believe that you should be a member of the church. If have something against church, you have something against Heaven. When we are in Heaven, we will have church everyday, all day long, for eternity.
