What if?

What if?
What if?

Tonight, October 25, 2014, we, the youth group of Piedmont Baptist Church went to Holston Baptist Church’s 11th Hour Ministry presentation of “What If …” Their version and own script of what other churches do as Judgement House. This script did not involve any hell scenes, but proposed the question, What If?

I enjoyed this script very much. This is actually things that have been on my heart and things I wished others would be more bold in doing. That is standing up for Christ even in the hardest of times.

Let’s take it to this drama demonstration. What if it was illegal to free say what you want and worship who you want. What if it was illegal to go to church. Say the police was waiting for you there to arrest you if you showed up. Would you still go?

How about if you were arrest, lost your job, kicked out of school etc for sharing your faith. Would you still do it? Would you be bold and share? Would you deny and live like the world and live in secret?

This is something I know I have shared from time to time on this blog. It is something that has been dear to my heart and exactly how if I could write a script, I may have wrote it.

But, I will say this, if we deny Christ, he will deny us. See Matthew 10:33; Matthew 16:24-26; Mark 8:34-36; Luke 9:23-26.  So don’t be ashamed of Christ, be bold. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. As Joshua 1:9 tells us be bold and not ashamed. This is one of my favorite Bible verses.

So let me ask you this, what if church was illegal, what if it was illegal to worship Christ? This is slowing implementing in America. In other countries it is already illegal. Just look at Texas and the pastors having to turn over there sermon notes and any things that goes against what people believe can make them in trouble. In America freedom of speech is suppose to be, but it is slowly being taken away.

The same goes for the freedom of religion. Today it is being taken away and it seems to be the freedom from religion instead. We are turning our backs from God. No one is being a voice and speaking up. We need more freedom fighters, those who will stand up and protect our rights of speech and our rights to assemble in Church. If we don’t these rights will be gone.

God didn’t say that we would never go through this, he actually told us we would be persecuted for being part of Him. Remember Christ was persecuted too,.

BE BOLD!

So what if it cost your job, your education, etc. I believe that knowing Christ is much more better. Standing up for Him had a greater reward than denying Him.

So would you be a secret Christian if this happened and not tell anyone or would you be bold and share Christ to everyone even if it meant persecution, jail, or even being put to death?

I hope that if you can, try to go see this production of What If at Holston Baptist Church in Knoxville. If you don’t, I hope that this blog post had made you think about the WHAT IF!
