Waiting in line

We wait in lines to go see a movie or special entertainment venues like concerts and theme parks, etc.

We wait in lines for our favorite sporting event, like football, baseball, basketball, soccer, racing, etc.

We will wait in line for food, movies, concerts, sporting events, new gadgets, etc.
But will we wait in line for church? God?

We wait in lines for grocery stores and retail stores, including waiting in line for special deals like Black Friday or the start of a new gadget.

We wait in line when we go out to eat.

We even wait in line for transportation, like buses, trains, airplanes, boats, subway, etc.

We wait in line to use the restrooms, well seems, mostly the ladies too, sometimes the men do, when you are out in public places.

We wait in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

There are numerous of places we wait in lines for or at.

Often we will wait in the rain, the cold or hot.

We have that much dedication to waiting in line in those places, but do we have the dedication, determination or desire to wait in line for church? If we had to wait in a line to get into the church, would we do it? Would we be one of the first ones in line and camped out waiting to go to church or would be not bother?

Would you still wait in line at church if it was raining or snowing? What if it was extremely cold or hot? Would you still wait in line to go to church if we had to wait in a line to go inside?

Let’s take it to another step, let’s say it was illegal to go to church, if they saw you outside the church building, would you still go, what if you still had to line up? Would you be ashamed and not line up or would you be proud and stand in line, knowing you face imprisonment or worse? Remember if we are ashamed of Christ, Christ will be ashamed of us. (Luke 9:26 | Mark 8:38)

Those who would I will say have their priorities focused on Christ, those that don’t, sadly do not have Christ first in their life.

I hope that you would be proud and willing to wait in line at church if we had to wait in line to go to church. Remember Jesus gave up his life for the church. We should be willing to do the same. (1 John 3:16 | Ephesians 5:25 | John 15:13)

Let’s also note that the church is not the building, the church is the people, the children of God, those who are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.
