Not only did Jesus come to die to save us, He also came to serve. Many times Jesus went and served others instead of having others serve Him. Normally a King has servants that served the king, with Jesus He humbled Himself to serve those around Him.

We should do the same. When we serve others, we are serving the Lord. We are showing the Love of Jesus. We are no better than anyone else. Jesus died for us all (Children of God) the same. No one is higher than anyone else, no one is lower than anyone else either.

Make sure you are using the gifts God gave you and serve! Those talents were given to you for a reason … to serve … benefit the Kingdom of God. To be used for His purpose.

My buddy Justin Breeden made this point in The Disciples Duty, part of the Word of the Week. Breeden’s point was …

Jesus is Lord – therefore it is the duty of His people to serve and obey Him.

Which I believe is a good read to go along with this blog post.
