Verses from the Bible – from my daughter

Verses from the Bible – from my daughter

My daughter, who soon will be 15, handed me a sheet of paper with some Bible verses from the Bible. She wrote down several Bible verses. It made me smile. So I figured I would share those verses with you all. She used the New King James Version. Some of those verses she wrote down as she thought it meant. I placed that under the verse.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

She had this verse written the same, but she put He will make your paths straight instead of He shall direct your paths.

Mark 10:27

Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

My daughter had that verse written as. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come they may have life and have it to the full.

Acts 4:12

Nor is their salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

My daughter had this verse written as. Salvation is found in no-one else for there is no other name under Heaven to men by which we must be saved.

1 John 3:16

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

She had this one written as. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid his life down His life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

1 John 4:4

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

She had this verse written as. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you greater that the one who is in the world.

1 John 4:20

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

She wrote this one down as. If anyone who says, “I love God, yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom has seen, cannot love God, whom has not seen.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
