This young fourth grader at Altamonte Elementary School in Altamonte Springs, FL designed his own t-shirt for “College Colors Day.” So He drew his own University of Tennessee’s logo on paper and pinned it to an orange T-shirt he found, as he didn’t own any official UT Merchandise.

However, after lunch, the boy came back to the classroom crying, “devastated” after a group of girls made fun of his handmade shirt, his teacher Laura Snyder wrote in a Sept. 4 Facebook post. Thanks to his teacher, Laura Snyder, for reaching out!

After the story went viral, the University of Tennessee created an official tee with the boy’s design and announced on Twitter. The University of Tennessee also stated that a portion of the proceeds from every shirt sold will be donated to an anti-bullying foundation. Which UT will cover that separately.

That is when it went viral! With more than 50,000 units have been sold out of the campus bookstore after the shirt went on pre-sale last week.

He was also Just given a 4 year scholarship and admission to University of Tennessee (UT). He will be part of the class of 2032. This scholarship will be covering his tuition and fees beginning fall 2028 should he decide to attend UT and meet admission requirements.

His design even made it on the famous painted rock on campus. Known as the The Rock at the University of Tennessee. Ironically the previous message was a anti-Semitic hate speech on it. Until one student decided to paint the anti-bullying t-shirt on the rock.

When a Florida elementary school celebrated College Colors Day, one student inspired all of Vol Nation with his Volunteer Spirit. After he drew this design onto a sheet of paper and attached it to his orange shirt some classmates made fun of him. Vols were touched to learn of the student’s heart for the University of Tennessee and sent UT gifts of all sorts. Now you can share in this student’s Volunteer pride by wearing his design on your shirt too. Proceeds from every shirt sold will be donated to STOMP Out Bullying.
