I would like to take this time to give a book review of the book The Love Dare. This the review of the book based from the movie Fireproof. This book takes you on a 40 day challenge.  A challenge that isn’t to be taken lightly. The ISBN #9780805448856. This book is by the Kendrick brothers, Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick. This book is about saving a marriage. How to make your marriage fireproof. If you have seen the movie Courageous, the movie Fireproof is a must see!

I finished this book back at the end of April 2012. I kept my notes in Mac Journal, a journal program for my computer.

I may have not been married when I listened to the The Love Dare, yes I listened to the book. The local library only had it on audio book. But, I still listened to it and did it day by day. It did teach me a lot about when I do become married. Most of the dares, I couldn’t apply to anyone, but it gave me an understanding for when something may arise if I do ever get remarried again in the future. So if you are married, in a relationship or not even in one. I would highly recommend reading this book.

This book gives you sound Biblical doctrine examples. Each day you will build onto what you previously learned. If you are with someone and start to see some changes, chances are they may be doing the The Love Dare on you. I also believe that some of these ideas can be adapted to daily living with everyone, your family, your friends, etc.

I was able to find a copy at a used book story, yet again it was the Audio book version, only one this used book store had, so I went ahead and purchased it. The audio version was read by Nick Archer.

This book could help save your marriage! Don’t be ashamed that you are reading this. Men, we are to love our wives as Christ loved us. We are to give our everything for our wives. We are to lay down our own life for our wife. God doesn’t like divorce. He only permits it for adultery with no other way out. Never the less, read this book regardless and this could help you both.

But I say to you, any man who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” (Matthew 5:31)

Have you read this book? If so, has it helped your marriage? Tell me your thoughts of this book! Your comments are welcome!
