The Sabbath Fulfilled in Christ

The Sabbath Fulfilled in Christ – What if the Sabbath is not a day like Saturday or Sunday but has been for filled in Jesus Christ? Making Him the Sabbath!

The Sabbath Fulfilled in Christ

This is what we think of the sabbath is a day of religious observance and abstinence from work, kept by Jews from Friday evening to Saturday evening, and by most Christians on Sunday.

Some say it’s on Saturday (the seventh day of the week), while others say Sunday (the first day of the week).

Hebrew word sabat, which means “to rest or stop or cease from work.” Even God rested. He rested on the seventh day after creation.

We are told to honor the this day and keep it holy too!

But what about the Sabbath being fulled in a person … in the person of Jesus Christ?

After all It is Jesus Christ who we worship, not a day! Plus, we are told to find our rest in Jesus Christ. The Sabbath is a day of rest. Jesus gives us our rest! Matthew 11:28 and meany other places through the Bible. Jesus paid it all for us. It is Him who we should go to not a day of the week. We should honor him daily not just one day week.

When we honor Jesus we are keeping it holy!

Even Matthew 12:8For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath, as you can see it tells us he is the sabbath.

I like what Got Questions says.

There is no other Sabbath rest besides Jesus. He alone satisfies the requirements of the Law, and He alone provides the sacrifice that atones for sin.

We sinners cannot keep the sabbath, since Jesus is the Sabbath, He kept it! He is the one that died for our sins!
