Some nurses got the idea to help comfort isolated patients in the ward due to COVID-19. They used two disposable gloves and tied them together. They also filled both of them with hot water, simulating impossible human contact due to insulation in the facilities. (Not too hot to burn the patient!)

I’ve realized This hot water glove,
to improve my patient’s perfusion
and better saturation:
I also hope the patient feels
like someone is holding his hand.

The picture was taken at the Vilo Prado Emergency Care Centre Unit in Sao Paolo, and the nurse technician who demonstrated the idea is called Semei Araújo Cunha.

As per Indian Express, she added: “As we had an intubated patient, we decided to do it as a form of affection, stroking, humanizing, as if someone was taking her hand, and also to soften the extremities that were very cold, the hand was very cold”.

I think that is a great idea. Some people are calling this the Human Touch, which simulates human interaction.
