June 15, 1934 was when The Great Smoky Mountains National Park was established. In 2015, they celebrate their 81st Anniversary. I enjoy hiking and camping. I don’t get to go to often. I grew up camping and hiking in the Boy Scouts of America.

We take our youth group hiking. They seem to enjoy it too! We usually take them to one of the waterfalls. We have done Grotto Falls, Mingo Falls, Hen Wallow Falls and Midnight Hole to name a few.

I remember as a kid my father taking us camping at Elkmont.

Today, June 15, would be a great day to go for a hike. Maybe take your family, church group or even Scout Troop and go hiking or even camping in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

You can see many waterfalls throughout the area too. Plus tons of wildlife too. You can see all that God Created. What a great way to spend time with God and what he created. When you go hiking, you could share the creation story and share how he created even what we see around us.

The Great Smoky Mountains are part of the Appalachian Mountains and run along the Tennessee and North Carolina border. I think this is the most beautiful area I have ever seen. Of course, I could live in the mountains near a creek.

There are many ways to explorer nature while you are at a National Park. Did you know that June 21 is also National Nature Photography day? Why not while you are hiking with your family, church group, or Scout Troop and take some pictures of nature. The very nature that God created.

Follow Courageous Christian Father and don’t miss a blog post. I plan to start blogging about my hiking experiences too.
