The Father’s Love (Review & Trailer)

The Father’s Love is an 86 minute long movie from 2014. It is a drama, romance and comedy type faith-based movie Starring: Angela Lin, Erik McKay, Raushanah Simmons, Jordan Turchin. The Dove Awards gave it 4 out of 5 Doves. This movie is rated for those ages 12 and up.

Synopsis:

Sarah, an aspiring filmmaker meets the man of her dreams. Charming, handsome, and wealthy, Reece becomes her world. As their story unfolds, Sarah is taken on a journey of heartbreak and forgiveness, exploring the meaning of her relationships both past and present.

Some of my review might be a spoiler alert if you continue to read.

My review:

I notice this movie seems to evolve a woman and her love affair and a heart break. There is a lot of kissing and implied premarital sex and implied sex while one person was still married. That does go against the Bible. But she does ask for forgiveness by the end of the movie. Not to be a spoiler.

One other thing I didn’t like about this movie was the OMG part was used. That is taking the Lord’s name in vain. This movie also does show drinking in it. There is also a good bit of inappropriate dress. No modesty you can say. Most of this is too much for what I would consider a Christian type film.

I did notice that “BLISS?” was popped up on the screen often.

I also don’t see how this movie was rated as a comedy. I can see how it was rated as a romance and drama type movie.

This movie does show and talk about the Bible. There is even a church sign. We are chasing something in the world, but God is chasing us. God wants to have a relationship with us. This movie also talks about forgiveness. Toward the end of the movie, you see Sarah reading her Bible that was given to her.

There is even mention of Christian Music in this movie too.

I do think the movie got better toward the end of the movie. The ending was the best part of the movie. Based on the movie, I kept thinking how does this movie have to deal with The Father’s Love. Until the end, but I still believe maybe another title would have suited this movie better. I do not know what title would.

I would give this movie a 2 out of 5. It was an alright movie. This is not a movie I would highly recommend, but a movie I would say maybe you can give a chance.

I was given this DVD to do a review of it. I thought this was a DVD that was soon to come out, but in fact it is already out. It came out May 2015 I believe.
