StEpPiNg Out In Faith

Would you StEp out in Faith to answers God’s call of what he wants you to do?

This post just came to my mind last few days and I have been working on what to say in it. I felt this needed to be posted.

I posted some similar questions on Facebook to see what kind of response I would get. Just not even a few seconds of posting that to Facebook. I heard on Francis Anfuso on K-Love he mentioned that “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where hew as going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise.” (See Hebrews 11:8-9a)

When I heard that segment on K-Love, I was like wow that ties in with what I asked on my wall so I could come up with this blog post. Talk about the power of the Holy Spirit coming to help along with a blog post.

Just up and leave?

If He told you to just pack up and leave where you are and go somewhere. Would you go? Even if you didn’t know where? Could you just up and leave all you have behind, friends, family and everything you have? Start a new life in a total new place. Even to another country?

Quit a job?

God told you to quit the job you are at, without you already having a new job.  Would you trust that He has something in store for you? Even if it was a good paying job, but God had another job that came into play and it paid less. Would you trust that God would have everything under control and your needs met?

Marry someone?

God tells you you need to marry this one person. That one person says the feel the same way. Maybe you don’t really even know this person. Would you obey Him and marry that person? Even if you didn’t really knew them that well, but know God wants you two to marry. Maybe he had great plans for the both of you together in His ministry to help somewhere jointly. Would you marry that person?

Anything else?

Maybe He is calling you to do, go and something else. Would you step out in faith and obey Him? Maybe you are afraid your family, friends, coworkers, etc, would make fun of you for it? Why not face you fear and follow God’s calling for you.

Response:

One respondent informed me that they felt God told them move to a different place. They did that. God also showed them one day who to marry. It wasn’t much past this persons divorce. This person added they celebrate just under 20 years of marriage.

Another respondent told me they are working on moving to where the other person lives and marry. They never met each other, but they both feel God had led them to be with each other.

Men of the Bible

Moses was a man that stepped out in faith. He didn’t think he could be used by God because of his speech impairment. He ended up leading Israelites out of Egypt. He was also the man God called to bring us the Ten Commandments. God used David to make a great King. Remember King David’s lineage goes to Jesus Christ our Savior. David remember committed adultery and murder. God even used Gideon, a man that was hiding from on coming soldiers. He went on to lead 300 people over the Midianites. Plus there was many more men and women of the Bible that did answer God’s call when He commanded them. Will you obey?

God Uses Ordinary People

To Do Extraordinary Things For Him

Closing

If God calls us to do something, we should not put if off. We should follow God’s instructions. Following His instructions so faith and total trust and confidence in God. When we follow God’s instructions, he will show us many blessings. He has great things in store for us. He has a purpose for our lives, He knows that purpose and we should obey Him to fulfill that purpose. So we need to step out in faith and listen to God. It doesn’t matter about our past, who we are what we know. Even the Disciples most of them were uneducated and untrained men. Think about that!

We should walk by Faith not by sight. (See 2 Corinthians 5:7)

So will you answer the call and step out of in faith and obey God just like Abraham did?

Just remember we answer to God in the end not man. We will have to answer to God for not stepping out in faith when He told us to do something.

Please share if you experienced anything like what I talked about in the blog, if you stepped out in faith, if you didn’t. How did it impact your life by following or not following what you felt God led you to do, go, etc.?

  4. amen. I stepped out in faith when I wrote my book. I had lost my job and was trying to find another one when I felt that God was leading me to write the book. My job took up so much of my time and my life that I had very little time for anything or anyone else. I chose to put off finding a job so that I could write the book. I chose to trust that God would take care of me as I did what I felt that He wanted me to do. So I wrote the book. Since then, I am too ill to work. I trust that God will still provide and will lead me where He wants me to go.
