This is held the Fourth Saturday in August each year. But, shouldn’t we speak kind words to everyone every day? Not just this particular Saturday in August? The Bible tells us our tongue is power and can do much damage to watch what we say.

I have never heard of Speak Kind Words Saturday, so from just visiting you today I’ve learned something new.
Of course I agree with you that as Christians, as human beings shouldn’t we be speaking kind words to everyone, everyday? However, as Christians and as human-beings, if we are honest, whether deliberately or unintentionally, we know that we do not!
I think when we have a day that focuses our behaviour in a direct and positive way, it becomes a reminder and a challenge to us to look at our lives and adjust them accordingly if need be and hopefully use the day as a launching pad for being more consistent every day.
