This Day is celebrated annually on March 18.

There are many ways to make Sloppy Joes!

Havannah Cuba at the bar and cafe in the early 1900’s is believed to have served the first Sloppy Joe. There was a bartender there that went by the name of Sloppy Joe. Not to mention, Hunt’s Manwhich has made it really famous and most known too. However, many will say a cook named Joe in Sioux City, Iowa in the 1920’s created a version with loose meat and bread.

Other names you might here them as are Slush Burger, Sloppy Jane, Messy Burger and more.

Did you know Sloppy Joes were mentioned in It’s a Wonderful Life?

Most used ground beef, but others use chuck roast or even chicken. You can even use ground turkey too.

Some use cinnamon, brown sugar or even maple syrup too.
