Sin … Paid Immediately

What if we had to pay for our actions of sin immediately? Sin is rebellion to obey God’s Laws. I believe we might look at sin differently if we had to pay for them immediately. Sin wouldn’t look as good or as tempting. What is this punishment for sin?

What would our punishment be for sin if we had to pay for it immediately. We all know Romans 6:23. “For the wages of sin is death.” That is what I am talking about. What if we were put to death for the sin that we commit.

This quote from an unknown author, on this graphic, I saw got me thinking about this and blogging about it too.

Sin … Paid Immediately

Sin Wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.

Sin wouldn't be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.
Sin wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately image.

If we were to be put to death for sin immediately, we may not want to commit that sin. We will want to strive harder and harder to live by God’s Laws.

If our punishment was death for the sin we committed, I am sure a lot more people would remember you because you were put to death because of the sin.

But, the good thing is God sent Jesus, His One & Only Son to die for our sins. Jesus paid for our sin debt. If we had to pay for our sin immediate, I am sure the population would be a lot smaller. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He than arose three days later. He is now sitting on the right hand of God and interceding on our behalf.

We will all still have to answer for the sins we commit. If we die rejecting Jesus, we will spend eternity in hell. If we die and accepted Jesus we will spend eternity in Heaven. Check out Your Final Destination.

Those who are saved and accepted Jesus, we will be given crowns based on what we do or don’t do. We will also still have to face the sins that we do, just that we are saved from the wrath of God. That still doesn’t give you a license to sin.

Did you know that God sees us 24/7. We cannot hide from God. There is nothing God doesn’t know or see. We can fool man, but we cannot fool God.

Let me put it also another way. Would you want to be caught in sin when Jesus returns?

When you feel tempted to sin against God, think about this for a moment. What if I had to pay for this sin immediate. That punishment was death.
