All Scripture is God-breathed

This week is International Bible Week and this week I am focusing on All Scriptures is God-breathed. See 2 Timothy 3:14-17, below.

14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16
2 Timothy 3:16

God-breathed that means that God spoke it and it is so. God spoke the Words and it was written down. Yes, it was written to man, but God spoke to these great godly men and they wrote exactly what God told them to write down. God spoke the Creation into being, and it was so and same applies to God speaking the Word and it was written.

The Word of God is so we can be corrected, so we know what way to live according to His Will and His Laws. This is why it is important to study God Word so we do know the right path. Plus we know when we are corrected based on His Word.

His Word is for teaching. It teaches us how to live and teaches about God, Himself. We must also learn by being taught. This is why small groups, Bible Studies, Sunday School and Discipleship Trainings are good. They are to teach us the Word of God. We are to listen with an open mind and open heart. Having feet ready to apply what we learned.

His Word is for rebuking. Knowing when we sin and to rebuke the dark forces of Satan and his attacks. Rebuking is telling sin to go away. That you serve Jesus not Sin. Satan has to flee in the Name of Jesus Christ.

His Word is for correcting. It can correct us to go on the right path. We may not know we are on the wrong path, but we may have a feeling. We go to the Word and find out exactly the correct path to take. Correcting is discipline, or punishment. God corrects those He loves.

His Word is for Training in Righteousness. This training, like being taught, helps us to know when we do wrong according to His Word. It show us how to be able to witness to others. How to withstand the fiery darts of the Devil. Training is ongoing. We always will be learning and training. This is why its important to stay in the Word.

So equip yourself and study! Read His Word Daily!
