The sandwich was invented by John Montague in 1718. 2018, the sandwich was 300 years old! This day is held annually on November 3.

A day to recognize the inventor of the sandwich, John Montagu, the fourth earl of Sandwich. A rake and a gambler, he is said to have invented the sandwich as a time-efficient nourishment while engaged in a 24-hour-long gambling session in 1762. 

Go out and eat a sandwich! Some restaurants may have specials on sandwiches.
