Proverbs 5

Today read the whole chapter of Proverbs 5.

Proverbs 5 gives warnings about sexual sin. In this fifth chapter of Proverbs, the Parents give warnings to their children. They warn them about seductive living. It tells us that an immoral woman has nice talk, that talk can be appealing, but that smooth talk is seductive. That seduction is deadly if you give into it. If you given into to the seduction, you are giving up your honor. The immoral woman is also unstable. This warning is clear to stay away or it can lead to death.

In verse 15, drinking water from your own well, can refer to the quenching of your sexual thirst. That you are only to stay in sexual bounds with your spouse. Husbands to your wives and wives to your husband.

Proverbs 5:3-5 for the 31 Day Proverbs Challenge for Day 5 - Proverbs 5
Proverbs 5:3-5

I guess you can say the immoral woman is the sin of honey. This type of honey you want to stay away from. She might look like fun, sweet or something pleasurable, but that passion will cause you to burn! So this shows there is bad honey and there is good honey. An immoral woman is bad honey!

honeycomb

honeycomb נֹפֶת nopheth pronounced (nō’·feth). It gives the sense of shaking into pieces. It can also be used to describe flowing honey, honey from the comb, a dropping down, hone and honeycomb. #H5317 Adam Clarke commentary says this about the Drop as a honey-comb – “She uses the most deceitful, flattering, and alluring speeches: as the droppings of the honey out of the comb are the sweetest of all.”

wormwood

Wormwood לַעֲנָה la`anah pronounced (lah·an·ä’). According to the Lexicon it means: From an unused root supposed to mean to curse; wormwood (regarded as poisonous, and therefore accursed): – hemlock, wormwood. #H3939 So her end brings poison to you to and you become like an unused root and are cursed.

This chapter goes onto to say you must stay with the moral person, your moral spouse. In the way this Proverb is written it seems to be more applied to the son in finding his wife. But, I am sure it can be turned around to the daughters and warn them not to live an immoral life and this is not the way to live.

Proverbs 5:3-5

Look at Proverbs 5:3-5, as shown below in the graphic and the quote below.

“For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb & her mouth is smoother than oil. But her end is bitter as wormwood sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death her steps take hold on hell.”

20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:
