Pi Approximation Day

Pi Approximation Day - another math holiday. But wait it isn't March 14th, how did you get that today is a Pi holiday? Well read on ...

This day celebrates the Pi symbol (π) and its importance to mathematics. I am not talking about a Pizza Pie or a Fruit Pie we eat either.

Pi can be also be expressed as the fraction 22/7. In a lot of countries they use the day first then the month. 22nd of July. That is how this day came about.

This math holiday is also known as Casual Pi Day and is observed every July 22. It is believed it was first celebrated at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. I am not sure who started it or when.
