Pennies from Heaven

People toss coins, especially pennies on the ground all the time. Some people, like me, will actually reach down and pick them up. Those coins we find, go in a jar that we use to bless someone at the end of the year.

Pennies from Heaven - did you find a penny laying on the ground? It might have come from heaven. #PenniesfromHeaven #Pennies

I found a penny today
Just laying on the ground.
But it’s not just a penny
This little coin I’ve found.

Found pennies come from heaven
that’s what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels tossed them down
Oh, how I loved that story!

He said when an Angel misses you
They toss a penny down,
sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown.

So don’t pass by that penny
When you’re feeling blue.
It may be a penny from heaven
That an Angel’s tossed to you.

Did you know?

Did you know that May 23 each year is Lucky Penny Day? I don’t believe in luck, but people will say if you pick up a penny on heads you will have good luck. I pick up any penny I see on the ground. Heads or tails. I even do that to other change too. For example, quarters, dimes and nickles too.

January 12 is Lost Penny Day!

Did you know you can share the gospel with a penny?

Pennies use to be made from copper.

Do you pick up pennies or other change you see on the street, ground, etc.?

If you do, feel free to share about your experience and what you do with that change you find in the comments below.

  1. I had a dream that my spirits (my pets that live over the rainbow) told me why they toss coins down to me. It is my adorable understanding that these chinkelly, scratchy, green, corroded damaged pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters are trinkets that help me do something that makes Jesus proud. I’ve found it to be true, because each coin I pick up, I hold up and say, “In who do we trust? We trust in God!” I say it lovingly, enthusiastically and gratefully. Each coin, no matter what I’m doing, will show me something or someone that needs me. If I happen to be carrying leftovers, a hungry person will be there with hungry eyes, so I give them the food and pray with them. Or someone will need to use my cell phone for an emergency. Other times, another Christian wearing a cross or playing an instrument will prompt me to stop and say a prayer. There’s always something associated with a coin, and I’ve noticed that shiny dimes often mean a sweet kiss or quick hello from someone who really loves me. Quarters seem to be associated with giant blessings to come, almost immediately. Coins from heaven mean to stop, adore Jesus, thank you friendly spirits (mine are my pets, my great aunt, uncle, my late friend and perhaps others (I’m still working on identifiying each one. Perhaps they’ll read this and reveal themselves. Either way, it is beautiful, peaceful, sweet, thoughtful and healing to my heart. Most important, it is 100% through Jesus, by Jesus, from Jesus and sponsored by our Father in heaven.
