20th anniversary of the powerful film, “The Passion of the Christ.” In 2004, director Mel Gibson brought to the big screen a visceral and unflinching portrayal of the final hours of Jesus Christ. The film, aptly titled “The Passion of the Christ,” chronicles the agony, betrayal, arrest, torture, and crucifixion of Jesus. Here are some key points to reflect upon:

Maundy Thursday we don’t hear about this day too much, especially as a Baptist. Holy Week, that starts on Palm Sunday, week before the resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday falls the day before Good Friday and Easter. This is just a short write up on this day. #MaundyThursday #HolyThursday

  1. I never never never liked that song, but I’ve read pieces about the ‘hidden meanings’ of the various parts and how it was used in a time of persecution. I am grateful for the creativity of it … just don’t like hearing it over and over!

  2. Thanks for your comment. As a song it is quiet interesting. But the hidden meanings are even more interesting. I never knew it, until I started doing a Christmas newsletter instead of Christmas Cards and finding articles to put in it and came across this. Happy New Year Roberta Smith.

  3. and back at you! I mentioned once to a friend that I love Christmas music with one exception – and then he gave me an article. I did more research and found that it was a great tool for teaching kids the Bible when the Bible was forbidden to laity!

    1. He will prevail eternally. I just read in romans 1 today how He allows them to follow the wicked folly of their desires but in the end His righteous are bleesed and the reap the consequences of their evil ways. So sad for them but it is a choice. His word stands eternally.
