I am sure some of us might be familiar with the word, “ohana”. This word is Hawaiian it means, “Family” It actually means a tight blood family. It became famous in the cartoon, Lilo & Stitch, in which they say “Ohana means Family and family means means no one gets left behind or forgotten.”

The same is true when you are a child of God. We become children of God by the Blood of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26). Christ died for our sins on the Cross. His blood was shed for us. With out the shedding of blood there would be no remission for sin. (Hebrews 9:22).
God never forgets us or leaves us. He is always with us. See Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you” and Matthew 28:20 “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Once we are adopted into the family of God, nothing can pluck us from that!
We are the ones that leave Him. Sin is what separates us from God. This is why we must repent, turn away from sin. Sin will keep us from fully worshiping God the way we should and sharing Christ to others as well. God will never forget us nor will He ever leave us behind. He is always with us. We just have to turn and look up to Him. Give our totally self to Him.
Also note, don’t forget your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as they are also part of God’s Ohana. Make sure you help lift them up, encourage them. Edify and make sure you bring them closer to God. A true friend or family member will bring someone closer to God, will bring everyone to Christ.
Christ is the answer to everything. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” See 2 Timothy 3:16.

Yes, God’s time is always perfect Kristi. God knows when stuff is best suited to happen. I believe we as Christian Bloggers should help edify each other. I like the group Blogging for God on Facebook. Because you have to read and comment on two peoples blog post before you share your own. Yes, we can reach others that way, plus too what you or I share, maybe something someone on our social network may need to hear by just us sharing the link on social media too.
A great reminder, thank you. I can recall the times in my life when I felt most abandoned and empty are because I ‘forgot’ (only for a short while, thank goodness) that I am indeed a child of God and He has not left me, even for a second.

I love Matt. 28:20… it can anchor any situation we find ourselves in, and the rest of your post is such a great encouragement to make sure we’re all looking out for each other, and fulfilling his great commission through serving and becoming family.

I don’t agree with the story line with aliens, etc. but Ohana is a good word from the movie. My daughter was talking about it and then a light bulb came off and I came up with this blog post on Ohana. We are never alone, we all go through things, might not be the same thing, but we all face issues. God uses those issues often to prepare us, to help us or bring us closer to Him. Sometimes, may be to help someone long way down the road. We never know, but God means good of all the evil in our life. You are welcome for for me sharing. Thanks also for the comment. @Steve Patterson Great point. I’ll have to check that group out later this weekend when I have a bit more time to spend on it. I agree, God delivers things to us right when we need to see it. I’ve never experienced that so fully as I have this year. God is so good!

@De Yarrison We all get those days even the saved can, a lot of time, sin is the factor or the attacks of the devil. That is why important as a saved person to repent and confess all sin. God is always with us, we are the ones that stray from Him. Yes I am thankful I am a child of God and God is always with us. He wants the best for us. I think the meaning to this word is such a treasure. It reminds me of how we are knit together in the body of Christ and if a stitch is missing in the body of the garment, there is a gap. May we be ever mindful and caring with sincere love towards our brothers and sisters so not one ever feels forgotten about or uncared for.

I see it when churches have visitors they ifteb leave them out and often actual members too. It is sad, I pray that we all can be united innone accord and mend all stiches where gaps are.
