National Siamese Cat Day

Each year on April 6, is the day for these Siamese Cats. I need to start a Calico Cat Day! Since it would be unique to Calicos, like this one for Siamese Cats. When I come up with Calico Cat Day, I will announce it here!

Now National Cat Day is celebrated in October. So why not make up certain types of cat days too. After all you hoomans seem to event all kinds of holidays.

Siamese Cat Day

The Siamese Cat originated from Siam (Thailand). It came to America around the 1800’s. It said, it was actually a gift, the first Siamese Cat in America. It was given to the First Lady Lucy Hayes, wife of United States President Rutherford Hayes. Not to mention a couple of other animal gifts too.

This day was created by Jace Shoemaker-Galloway in 2014. Part of this day was to raise awareness of the need to adopt shelter animals.

Siamese cats usually have blue eyes and a beautiful coat.
