National Pie Day – That beloved dessert … pie had it’s own Food Holiday! #PieDay #Pie
National Pie Day

Not to be confused with Pi Day, a math holiday!
American Pie Council created National Pie Day in 1986 to commemorate Crisco’s 75th anniversary of “serving foods to families everywhere.” However, others will say Charlie Papazian created this holiday in the 1970’s and held it on his birthday. Papazian is from Boulder, Colorado and was a nuclear engineer, brewer and teacher.
National Pie Day is held annually on January 23rd.
